Union Public Service Commission is inviting online applications from the eligible candidates for the Civil Services Prelims Exam before the last date.

Aspirants applying for the exam should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to Civil Services Prelims exam. Their admission to all the stages of the Civil Services Prelims exam will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of admission certificate to the applicant will not imply that his/ her contenders have been finally cleared by Union Public Service Commission. The organization takes up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/ Personality Test.

Eligibility ->>
Nationality ->>
1. For Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, candidates must be Indian resident.
2. For other civil services candidates must be a citizen of below mentioned countries:
India
Nepal
Bhutan
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
A person of Indian origin (PIO) who has migrated from Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Pakistan, Burma, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zaire and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

CSE Educational Qualifications ->> Applicants must have degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament.

Number Of Attempts ->>
Applicants shall be permitted six attempts at the Civil Services Examination.
In the case of SC and ST applicants, there is no limit of attempts.

Age Limit ->> Minimum 21 & Maximum age is 32 years.

Age Relaxation ->>
For applicant belongs to a SC or ST upper age limit is relaxed up to five years.
For candidates belonging to OBC who are eligible to avail of reservation you can get relaxation of three years.
Applicants, who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J&K during the period from the 1-01-1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989 is admissible for five years age relaxation.
In the case of Defence Services Personnel, disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof will get three year relaxation.
Ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service will get five years relaxation.

Application Fee ->>
For Female/ SC/ ST/ PH applicants: No Fee
For other Category aspirants: Rs. 100/-

Mode of Payment ->> Fee must be submitted in any Branch of SBI by Cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India/ State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ Sate Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala /State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit Card.

Selection Process ->> Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam, UPSC Civil Services Main Exam and Interview.

Candidates have to attempt Multiple Choice Questions of total 400 marks.
Question Paper will be set both in Hindi and English languages.

Applicants, who will qualified in UPSC Preliminary or Mains examination, are called to attend interview rounds. It is the final round to select application for particular posts and the interview session will be of 275 marks.

UPSC Civil Services Admit Card ->> Candidates are needed to carry their Civil Services admit card with them at time of exam. No candidates will obtain entry in exam without their CSE admit card/ hall ticket. For both main and Prelims exams, you have to bring admit card/ call letter with you.
